Multicouples.

One assembly, many measuring junctions — multicouples read a full temperature profile across a tank, column or reactor, with sensors positioned at the key depths in your process.

Temperature Profiling

Profile temperature across the whole vessel

Often there's a need to measure a temperature profile across a large tank or vessel. A multicouple does exactly that — an arrangement of measuring junctions set at various depths, monitoring many points with all the thermocouples or RTDs contained in a single assembly.

They're used in catalytic crackers, lime kilns, distillation columns, pressurized reactor vessels and many other applications where such profiles are necessary. Assemblies can be miniaturized — three feet long with two or three sensors — or run to any length, even over one hundred feet with twelve or more sensors.

A multicouple generally consists of a junction box that terminates the thermocouples and joins them to cables running back to the instrument, the thermocouple arrangement at various depths, and a pipe protection well built to withstand the pressures and corrosives in the vessel.

Every multicouple is custom made to locate measuring junctions at the key points in your process. Our years of experience and qualified applications engineers can help with the technical design of the right assembly.
